Acceptance to the Thunderdome includes:

  • Select meals, including a welcome taco bar Thursday night and daily breakfasts

  • A networking happy hour and generative writing session with prompts

  • An evening reading at the Trident, one of Boulder’s most beloved literary institutions

  • Optional excursions to prominent hiking destinations

  • A robust itinerary with craft talks and lots of flex time for writing, talking, and exploring Boulder

Cost

The full rate for the conference, with inclusions described above, is $400.

Lodging Options

Please note: conference cost is $400, NOT INCLUDING lodging.

Onsite / Residential Conference Campus Lodging— $100
Shared rooms at the conference campus, a private residence in east Boulder. This option includes:

  • Shared rooms and include access to shared bathrooms

  • Access to a shared kitchen and communal relaxation spaces 

  • Access to an expansive yard and on-site fire pit

  • Nearby walking and running trails  

Onsite / Camping Conference Campus Lodging— $50
Tent camping is also an option at the Conference Campus. This option includes:

  • Tents, sleeping bags, and additional camping gear

  •  Full access to indoor bathrooms, kitchen, and indoor communal relaxation spaces

  • Access to an expansive yard and on-site fire pit

  • In case of inclement weather, camping faculty-participants will be moved inside

Off / Near Conference Campus Lodging
Faculty-Participants can choose to reserve their own accommodations off campus. Below are some options that are still close to the conference campus. If you are considering this option, please reach out to conference staff to discuss daytime transportation to and from the conference campus. Any attendees who choose to stay off-site will only pay $400 for participation in the Thunderdome Conference.
